Jesus Considers Death the “Last Enemy”?

Jesus Christ: Defeat Death

We can live by doing God’s will.

(1 John 2:17) 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.

In Revelation 2:16, when Jesus was counseling the congregations, he said:

“Therefore repent. If you do not, I am coming to you quickly, and I will war with them with the long sword of my mouth”

These were Christians that were getting lazy, and showing signs of relapse into sinful PRACTICE.

Well, at Armageddon, the symbolic groups are shown being destroyed:

Rev19:19

“And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army. And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulphur. 21 But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth. And all the birds were filled from the fleshy parts of them.”

Notice where they went, to destruction in fire. No longer will those human collectives rule the planet, it is not an actual beast, it’s a symbol of our ravenous global kingdom’s united against God’s Kingdom, the false-prophet is also a symbolic picture of the fomenter of preaching human salvation through human governance.

Then, it says, on an individual basis, BUT

“But the rest were killed off with the long sword of the one seated on the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth.”

Now, there is no indication they get a resurrection, the “kings” and “armies”. But there is also a definite difference in the symbol of destruction, it’s the sword of Jesus mouth, not the Lake of Fire. What I mean to say, is Jesus cares, when he sends hammerheads like me warning and blasting and preaching, it’s not that I am judging, it’s that if we get lazy, Jesus slaps us, he HAS to. Staying on the path of life, is not guaranteed if we fall into sin as a repeating pattern.

Hebrews 3:12:
“Beware, brothers, for fear there should ever develop in any one of you a wicked heart lacking faith by drawing away from the living God; 13 but keep on exhorting one another each day, as long as it may be called “Today,” for fear any one of you should become hardened by the deceptive power of sin”

He knows the flesh is weak, but the spirit is powerful, he knows he has to have a high bar, yet we know with all effort to truly follow him, and avoid the beast’s mark even to the death, he is the judge, he is kind but powerful, he is loving but disciplined, he always gives hope, but like the commander he is, he has to keep striking us to keep us in line. If he did not, we would slide into the weaknesses of the flesh, Paul said I pummel myself, Jesus said exert ourselves.

We cannot take chances, everything Jesus warned of, will come upon this world, and the enemy, regardless of what facades, and tricky good intentioned collectives may appear, Satan is preparing and Jesus shows and the prophets of the bible do as well, Satan will attack, he is stubborn wicked hater of God; envious trifler. He does not sleep, and we have to keep people awake, and warn, preach, prove, and be ready ourselves.

It’s coming, like a thief. The challenge of all time in this world, and Satan is released after the 1000 years to raise temptation, his opinions and lies again, it’s not all said and done by a long shot, until Satan’s/demon minds are smashed, and he and the whole bunch of addicts of their own will are dead Gen3:15.

When Jesus hands the kingdom back to his father, we want to be there.

1Corinthians 15:24+

(Finale) “when he hands over the kingdom to his God.. when he has brought to nothing all government.. and power.. the last enemy, death is brought to nothing.. the Son himself will.. subject himself.. that God may be all things to everyone.”
