Quite possibly. But the GB is not quite as unreasonable as you, and due to lack of knowledge on the potentials within the technology, and the sheer size of this field, if Jehovah wills it, they will be seeing that the internet is far far more than teen chat rooms, nor do you have to go into known apostate territory.
I have read and heard the counsel, and they know some of us “live” and work on the Internet, it is my worldly profession. There are many places, such as news blogs, and on-line newspapers globally, with great areas for electronic witnessing.
I understand the dangers, as far as satanic seed planting, but I have a forum here, were it is not all opposers, and with first page Google ranking guaranteed from the topix thread heading, it is a place also where 100′s of people in a month, and thousands over a year, can be given information about God’s kingdom.
The Declaration of Independence, as the bible as well, are written declarations, which are publicly available. To say Mad is looking for his own glory, is a bit presumptuous. You cannot see the heart. For people who grew up, or developed in the internet, a web, or blog, is an extension of one’s personal mouth. I speak, I write, I have faith in one Kingdom of God, which developing kingdom coalition simply cannot compete with, for global dominance. Yes, but the printing press, and then the digital press, is something the brothers warmed to more and more. They ALWAYS tried EVERY technology available. The have videos, they have written messages, and they go door to door. You can also go to the mall, an airport, a park, a supermarket.
This is not minimizing the door to door. It’s just stating that while one may spend 4 hours, and talk to 10, 4 hours on the internet, will knock on 200 doors, and the echo of that ministry replicates, ricochets, rebounds, and is in a relationship to God’s initial work of seed planting. We offer many avenues, for God’s angels to work with later, supported by the door to door ministry, and personal ministry.
Whatever God decides, we know door to door is approved, but limited. The internet also has certain limitations. Territory, and hours of operation are not one of them. They can be complimentary, it’s all based on knowledge of how to use it, it’s a great territory, with immense potential for witnessing, as God, and Satan, are fully aware.
And realistically, there are many who simply are limited to their usefulness in the door to door ministry. This ministry is a highly efficient way, for many witnesses at the margins, to have a full time ministry not possible with the more traditional ministry.
Humans are known to first resist innovation, I believe it may be embraced for useful purposes, the same as digital CD’s, video, and software based aids are used by the WTS.
We do not want to let the door to door become, what it has become with many witnesses, a robotic system, that they use to loft one above the other with, and a way for them to look down on the so-called “spiritually” weak.
In it’s pure form, removed from competition and self righteousness, it is God appointed ministry. But, unfortunately, you have to watch dog people, to make sure Luke 17:10, is a scripture they read every, I say EVERY day. That scripture, is very important.
Right now, with better SEO design, the brothers could be getting another 200-5000 people a day to their websites, where life saving information awaits.
Their websites, have improved much, but could be A rated interactive websites, where interest can be developed real-time. Surgeons, artists, musicians, cooks, programmers, and many many others, are taking advantage of advanced teaching systems based in on-line technologies. Webcams, video, audio and direct interactivity can be used for 24 hour witnessing. Assemblies and meeting should be available to the world, live, anywhere, anytime. Being fearful and closed minded, I just do not find biblical evidence Jesus was that way, nor his apostles.
Many improvements could be made, also to develop a stronger personal study motivation amongst witnesses. TV, and other brainwashing media, should be developed away from, to on-line minsitries, and other mobile ministries, because it’s a publicity conduit, which can plant many seeds.
We should not be running away from Goliath. God knows David never ran from his giant enemies, he penetrated him with an interactive stone he swung, and God guided, deep into goliaths brain. This Goliath is no different. This can bring the zeal back to many on the downside of the door to door ministry, which to some, is just a routine which in many cases has turned robotic. Very little engagement, yet it has worked. The internet provides full time engagement, and many outlets for legitimate witnessing which can be identified, from open theological discussion, to news sources with running threads developing around them over 100′s of thousands of topics, in 1000′s upon 1000′s of alternative and domestic news agencies. The high traffic zones, of legitimate information seekers are out there, and sheep will be found, one way or another, before the end. The internet, like a bookstore or mall, can have worthless seedy areas, but the internet is diverse, and the world populations are available upon it.

Yes, I believe if the time is right and the advantage can outweigh the disadvantage demonstrated enough in theory first, that maybe the reaction could be reconsidered, as I see the issue of preaching foremost to avoiding channels of communication where a PARTICULAR form of dissent lies, and a minority in my opinion. I understand though a simple argument of dissent, can propagate disastrously, but why? Because it itself has not been addressed and instead it is left to the discretion of the “sheep”, and there in is the greater danger if indeed one seems themselves as a responsible shepherd, then the shepherd faces the lion, and that opens the way for the sheep, to consider the logic for there own use, rather than as can be seen, wondering about it, because any viewpoint can be argued effectively, it is why society is what it is, rooted psychologically in the very “power” that the fruit she ate, gave her. Too much insight, LOL, and none of it really gets anywhere, LOL. (In the long run, the common pattern and cycle are present, for example political, all regimes, ideologies, and governmental forms leave the poor and weaker classes easily identifiable, the supposed equality is only propagandized for the rationalization of those who are placed in these orders as the reluctant, and intentional, predators. Guilt and keeping psychological harmony are why rationalization and justification are then the painkillers of the propaganda which supports them, and hence, 10billion words are written in every polarity that the chaotic turbulence of these fronts conflicting creates.

With the WTS, we may remember a day when pyramidology which even some 6th graders recognize today, was part of the teaching. People are naive to think that such a deep occult root in the above simply was removed overnight. Though brought in as a support for biblical chronologies, and not the sole basis of arriving at dates, and from a background very very few knew the origins of in occult Masonic tradition and science going back to Nimrodic Tower of Babel, the original paramount Satanic altar (the one on the back of the 1USD, in logo form), it was still being assimilated.
Someone had to raise issue with it based on research. It was assumable that it was argued upon the evidence as of occult depth, and it was removed. That could only occurred by someone raising the idea, that Russell had erred unintentionally. Had people started following a man from the days which brought about Russell’s interpretive teachings, they would have objected to updating his “theology”, and some did. But in the overall guidance system, that Satanism was thoroughly, completely, surgically removed, and soon many other occultic symbologies, pagan ritual as holy days, and Masonic “trademarks” were also removed, which were linked also with what was becoming clearly described as “false religious practices”.
So, if it is to be, it takes time, evidence, and an argument in reasonableness as to why it may be reconsidered, it is not my crusade, but I put it out there, that the internet having dangers is like anywhere else, but with easy access to these things. We can avoid that if conscience dictates a certain matter differently, like eating a sirloin steak sacrificed to the industrial altar which produces it for us. Few object, and Paul would not either, unless it was a stumbling.
The internet also remains in the majority, and valid communicative teaching and preaching territorial tool, global. IMO, to make a long story short, LOL.

1. It is not a “command”, it is cautioned against, for many reasons.
2. The written form of witnessing, is as valid as God’s own written form of witnessing, the bible. Not in inspired quality of course, but as a means of communication.
3. The building of websites, is a form of personal witnessing, and though we do appreciate the GB’s guidance, we must also see this is the case. How can a GB, stop something that is commanded in the bible? It is a form of speaking our faith.
4. If Jehovah wants to get through with an adjustment, he will keep knocking on the GB door, until it is seen, or he will not.
The GB, in my opinion, have more work to do in their own consideration of the arguments for using the internet as what it is, a communication channel, not just to improve their own “web presence”, but to realistically train others to use it with power and caution, but none the less, use it. All they need is the case presented in a report, the internet cannot be “ignored”, and they must become more aware of it’s positive potential.
They need to address it more fully, and study the technology more fully in it’s potential to work valid e-territories globally, and they are there.
To some, the internet communication channel is as natural as speaking. This needs to be addressed more fully, and I guess I need to for my part, write a few letters, as space does not permit here, for th full analysis and argument for this medium of global communication.

Yes. The reason why I think so, is that they are warning of places that are for apostate purposes. An open discussion, and they could have one at their own site, is a valid forum, as valid as Paul’s Areopagus.
Who would just ignore a HUGE global TWO-WAY communication channel? No one when they see it for also the positive it has to offer. They would have to organize it, upon some principles.
For instance, there are literally thousands of news journals on line. Thousands of blogs, on EVERY imaginable topic, sub topic, global historical event, news past and present etc right?
Now many of those pages and blogs, ALLOW user input, that some can read and respond to, read and ignore, or just ignore. They are on everything and anything, and everything and anything, can be used for a public declaration.
The declaration of independence of the United States, is a written document, it is still a public declaration. So, to me, verbal witness, can be written.
I have developed a number of positive reasons, the internet could become the last great field of the world. 2 billion users is one of them. 100 million and more mobile devices is another.
But, this is not enough space of course. Even their official sites, could be highly interactive for TWO WAY communication, not just one way information and a contact form, which is also too limited. They could design in extensions to their web presence which would bring in another 50K visitors a day.
They could also train people, and respond better themselves, to those who accuse us. I have not seen one apostate reasoning that I could not, as Paul says, overturn.
I have not seen one witness who went bad, as well, that should be a reason for people to doubt the faith, but it takes a way of reasoning, and a way to show, even stumbling IS A PROPHECY COMING TRUE.
I think they should face the accusers head on, for not all are apostates, that is simply to generic of a word. Many have VALID misunderstanding which should be “turned back” into the faith. I believe it is scriptural as well, though I cannot cite my references here, I have been thinking about this for a while.
It came to be, in my own personal outlines, a bit more than a letter, as I have a number of valid ways to use the “internet”, and it’s sub-operations, and nuances, and developments as particular communication channels. It is so diverse, it could literally be a book, which the generic generalization as “web” and “internet”, are simply too stereotypic, and too broad and coarse.
There is MUCH more to these communication technologies. And there is much more potential to use them beyond 1 way communication, to 2 way, and to even multi-party.
The brothers should have EVERY convention, talk, and meeting, on you tube for the record, in some form.
The official verbal ministry should be made more public, than a one time live experience, into something referenceable for the world, for ALL time, globally.
I simply see to much fear, in the way they are responding to it now, and not enough acceptance of this as a 2 way communication outlet.
I also feel that their lack of facing, and responding to certain things which I have seen publicized on the internet, such as shunning, blood issue, avoiding “apostates”, is having a far greater, IMO, affect as blowback from these very same outlets.
I said “apostate” because it’s a stereotypic label of ALL opposers, but in reality, it is a specific kind of opposer, which I understand the biblical counsel.
What I feel is, SOME of them could be brought back, with the proper reasoning, many of them are “apostate”, but in fact CMWYW, SOME are hurt and stumbled, and in some cases I feel, were treated with more “coldness and judgment” than “love and mercy”, and a true heart felt appeal to them OFFICIALLY, and the RESPONSE to the main problems reasonably, would bring them back. Another thing is, it is flexible, as well as global.
First it could not be a thing you’d require. It would be for those already using it, unproductively possible, which could be directed by knowledge into using it for witnessing, just like the phone ministry was used, you could even have a web cam ministry.
Then you could also make it developable to those who would like to know more, and use it according to a best practice, and territory development.
The flexibility is that:
Immobile witnesses could become full time. It is easy to get into something for multiple hours, and it is global in reach, a guidance system can map this.
You can use it 24/7.
It can track news events which do have relevance to prophecy, in one way and depth, or another.
It is deigned and evolving into a completely interactive, two way channel of communication, including video/web cam. You could literally conduct a bible study between those having the technology and access, face to face, but separate by miles.
It is FULLY interactive. What does that really mean. Well, instead of just knocking on peoples door, people can come and knock on your door, LOL. Yes, certain nasties, and stalwart haters would be encountered, but they can be dealt with by filtration, controlled access, etc. To assume everyone is that, is just not true. People look for information online, and yes a WTS web is nice, but it could be fully, 2 way interactive, and even connect up witnesses for LIVE response to interest, anywhere in the world, to witnesses anywhere as well.
Although their won web presence responsiveness is another technological issue in itself, they could field questions live, and even in automated form. Yes public declaration, and personal ministry is important, BUT so is information itself. That information’s flexible use, is also why this technology, and it’s additional uses and progress is occurring in world wide fashion, why?
Because it works, and can be effective for the transfer, AND transformation of information. It might as well be information about the most important personage, Jehovah, and his right hand personage, Jesus Christ.
The web they have currently, though nice, is a year 1999 technological application. They need to go further with it, at least keep up with the basic state of this art of communication global.
It could be a global ministry reaching multiple millions a month more, than it is, and it should also respect the fact that the ministry is not all conversion, but whether the “hear or refrain” the ministry is commanded to go out to all, regardless.

They say its a caution. They say it is just a suggestion. They do not follow the advice if the GB. Period. But this is good news as they are on their way to freedom from being misled. Why do you preach on the Internet?
From days before the Internet, my own conscience made me read all the oppositional stuff I could find contrary to counsel. That is not for everyone, but I had to know, and I did it. It does not bother me, because I can’t be unsealed in my knowledge, it’s been to deep, and too many ways to refute, or re-perspective any view others have. It went against my general nature to be an ugly truth seeker, no matter where it may be found. It’s also why I know why the governmental systems we see, are from another age, and are already replaced in the globalist mind, because it is a natural process, to predatory ecologies. The wild beast, is a global predator, the 2nd beast of Revelation, is the ultimate devourer, in symbiosis with the general wild beast of 7heads, and the image of that maneater. end tangent…

Plus, here is the main advantage, and the last days command to, preach, a public declaration. (Who can really stop that?)
1. It remains, possibly for years. So, when I write something, it may very well be to an opposer, a stumbled one, or who knows, BUT I try to imagine as well, a number of people over time reading the dialogue, rather than one finite communication.
2. If it lasts any amount of time, which is common, it is vacuumed out by search bots, literally possibly hundreds of them, deployed for various uses, not just search engines.
3. So, like a virus, one communication can not only be available to the forum visitor or member itself, but it can be replicated in time, many thousands of times, potentially, on other networks, and into search results from all of them as well, so it will keep replicating itself, potentially globally.
That’s what I think some may not appreciate about how this technology can quickly spread a message, make it accessible to random and programmed searches globally, and “live” on potentially for quite a while. It’s a chaos, and an unknown where it may be “sent” or picked up at.
It’s also a common communication medium for many many people, some people type more now-a-days, than they actually talk to others.
But, it’s still a conversation, so I think it has a more versatile validity than may be apprehended at first glance. It’s a tract in a global electric wind, but in a personal witness format.
Many newspapers on-line, and information network blogs, also have running blog style comments users can add to after the main article. These are very useful, because they cover every topic imaginable, and anyone can add something as a witness or just information to these global websites.

Yes. I thought that as well, some order and planning.
It also has to have someone who thoroughly understands, even if just conceptually, the nature of all these internet bred fields, and the nature of making things more easily found by searchers.
I do know, and have been really happy with the society’s use of the web. When that web first started, as is usually the case, it was not nearly as content and accessibility rich.
What I think is funny, is that they don’t allow email contact. They can write filters, that look for the normal abusive syntax, and actually I believe they bypass one of the rarest opportunities in a Jehovah’s witnesses world: Some one knocking on their door for a change, LOL.
Many innovations, like jungles are feared, when first encountered. Familiarity with the territory, is a key. I had a paper i wrote them, that is far larger than a small post, that went into a bit more depth of demonstrating the truly enormous field in the net. How preaching can take place in almost any kind of forum, in one way or another, and techniques and ways to think of how information is replicated, distributed and stored on the web.
It’s like half of China, dispersed across all borders, but with that afterimage that resides who knows where, after things are put public. There is no way to actually track, the strange chaos that can guide a document on the internet.
That’s one area. If I see that let’s say some people said, tv does not influence people. Well, funny that a 30 second commercial does, and advertisers pay millions because it works. The point being, video training on the web, or digitally, is effective. There is no doubt, a well made set of videos, interacting with a person, through digital means, computers and peripherals, one could learn medicine, or law, or guitar, or piano, or the bible.
I think that just as many former industrial paradigms have shifted, to the only medium becoming cost effective, such as advertising for example, the evolution of innovations directed to it, are dependant on seeing the potential, which means the basic concepts of it have to be understood, for abstract connectivity, and creative thought. Since I have been at something similar in secular work for over a decade, it was difficult for getting businesses to envision what they were (and many still are) missing in this invisible architecture, which is really, still a teenager in tech development terms and saturation. This invisible revolution, though unseen, though a child, is undermining many former business intelligence “solutions”. it’s hidden nature, and specialized knowledge, does not help them see really how intense the whole really is becoming.
